Enrollment cost includes:

  • 8 week enrollment
  • 30 minute group lesson @ 11:45am
  • 30 minute practice time @ 12:15pm
  • Skate rental (Available on a first-come, first-served basis; inexpensive recreational ice skates may be purchased in our Skate Shop)
  • US Figure Skating registration

ATTENTION GROUP LESSON STUDENTS
Completion of this online registration form includes acceptance and electronic signature of the RELEASE below. We will try to accommodate your lesson time request. In the event that your requested time will change, you will receive notice of the change. HELMETS are suggested, but NOT SUPPLIED, for TOTS, Level 1 & Level 2 skaters. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to each class so all skaters can start class at once.
NO REFUNDS OR CANCELLATIONS AFTER FIRST CLASS – MAKEUP CLASSES ARE NOT AVAILABLE
Registering after classes start? You may be able to pro-rate the costs
If you register after classes begin you can pro-rate costs for the remaining weeks (minimum of 4 weeks) using the following codes:-

  • Code: LTSS-1 – effective 3/19 thru 3/25 – missed 1 week (-$20)
  • Code: LTSS-2 – effective 3/26 thru 4/1 – missed 2 weeks (-$40)
  • Code: LTSS-3 – effective 4/2 thru 4/8 – missed 3 weeks (-$60)
  • Code: LTSS-4 – effective 4/9 and beyond – missed 4 weeks (-$80)

Skating Level Overview
Note: Adult classes will be offered 7:45 Fri and 12:15 Sat. only
Snowplow Sam Beginner skaters under 7 years old-learn the basic skills of skating
Basic 1&2 Introductory level for children 7 and older- learn basic forward and backward skating
Basic 3 FUNdamental level learning forward stroking and introduction to edges
Basic 4 FUNdamental level learning forward egses and crossovers, intro to spins
Basic 5 FUNdamental level learning backward edges and crossovers
Basic 6 FUNdamental level learning more advanced stops &skating manuevers.
Upon completion of these levels, skaters will be able to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating.
Pre-Freeskate Progressive skating skills , transitions, spins, and jumps
Intro to Hockey (Fri. 7:45pm only) Basic skating with attention to balance, shuffles and c-cuts used in hockey skating

RELEASE: In consideration of the participant being permitted to register and participate in ice skating at The Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society, we do hereby forever release and discharge its Directors, Agents, Employees and any person or corporation connected herewith from all manner of action, injury, damages, costs, claims or demands which we will, shall, or may hereafter have suffer or receive by reason of each participant in any program at The Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society release shall be binding on our heirs, assigns, executors and administrators. It is further agreed that The Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society shall not be considered to guarantee or warrant such equipment as may be used in the conducting of said ice skating program. I also hereby agree to permit the video recording and/or photography of this activity for purposes of program advertisement by PSCHS.
