John is a former World and Olympic Competitor. He has been teaching since 1997. John is a member of both USFSA and the Professional Skater’s Association. John is currently our “ Learn to Skate” Director.

As a skater , John was a National, International and World Competitor. John medaled at the Canadian Figure Skating Championships, was a Junior Canadian Champion and skated on the Canadian World and Olympic Teams. In 1984 he and partner Kelly Johnson represented Canada at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. His testing credentials include; gold dance, gold free dance, novice pair and gold freestyle.

As a coach, John has been coaching Synchronized Skating since 1996 and has coached our Synchronized Skating Team Philly Spirit.

John works in the fields of Dance, Singles, Skating Skills,  Hockey Power Skating and choreography.  John is comfortable working with students of all ages and skating abilities.
