Phillipp has been teaching since 1975; he is a member of US Figure Skating and the Professional Skaters Association .
A Gold Medalist in Figures, Freestyle, Pairs and Dance, Phillipp competed Nationally and Internationally in Pairs placing 2nd at the World University Games. He also competed in the World Professional Championships in Jaca, Spain placing 4th. He studied under Gus Lussi and Wally & Norma Salin.
Phillipp has coached skaters from beginners through Gold tests. His students have competed at the Regional, Sectional, National and International levels, including Open Juvenile Pairs Champion, Intermediate Pair Bronze Medalist, Novice Pair Silver Medalist and International Junior Pair bronze medalist. He is available to teach Moves-in-the-Field, Freestyle and Pairs.
