Skating and Social Events

There is an old saying around the locker rooms – if you don’t mind making a fool of yourself by trying to stand on a quarter inch of metal on the ice, you certainly won’t mind having a good time at a party. Skaters, and those they love, are especially fun creatures and always manage to have a good time at social events. During the Club year, we have a number of different events:

The Great Skate

This party annually opens the club season. It is a great way to greet and meet other members. The children have a great time participating in on-ice games,  while the adults socialize and participate in the Auction; the proceeds of which go to the Competitors Fund.

Member/Guest Sundays

Member/Guest Sunday is the perfect opportunity to “show off” your Club to your friends. The last Sunday of the month from 1:00-3:00 pm during the family session, bring those who may be interested in skating to PSC&HS and show them what we have to offer! (There are no guest fees or skate rentals fees on Member/Guest Sunday sessions.)

Membership, trial membership and Learn to Skate information will be available for your guests.

Annual Meeting and Dinner

Held after the end of the season each year.

Family-centered Activities

Throughout the year, there are numerous family activities sponsored by the Junior Committee. These include the Holiday Show, the Club Competition, and a host of others. These events require everyone’s participation in planning and getting them to happen. Involvement in one of these can be a great way to meet and get to know other members.  Family Skating Sessions are scheduled Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  Additional family sessions are scheduled during the holidays.  These sessions are a great way to entertain family and friends.

The club welcomes guests, who could be potential members. In keeping with that philosophy, in 2012 we have introduced Member/Guest Sundays. These events take place on the last Sunday of the month.  Club members are encouraged to bring their friends to see all that PSCHS has to offer.
