Due to the continuation of the Stay at Home order updated by Governor Wolf , The Philadelphia Skating Club will remain closed, until further notice.

Additionally, USFSA has strongly recommended that no group events be conducted until after May 11th.


The skating club is working tirelessly to maintain the facility and the ice during this stay at home order, with the intent to re-open as soon as the Governor gives the OK. We hope that you and your family stay well during this time, and we will be in touch with more information as we receive updates from local and state government.

At the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society, America’s first skating club, our mission is to preserve and promote the sport, art and history of figure skating for recreation and competition. We offer skating programs for everyone, including public skating on Friday nights, group lessons through Learn to Skate USA, and membership packages for skaters of all ages and skill levels.

Learn to Skate

Ice skating is not only fun, it’s good exercise and builds confidence too! We offer group lessons for all ages from tots to teens to adults. Whether you want to skate recreationally or aspire to competitive skating, we have a class for you. Lessons are taught by our professional and passionate staff coaches and follow the Learn to Skate USA curriculum. Classes meet weekly for 60 minutes and include 30 minutes of group instruction and 30 minutes of practice ice. Registration fee includes skate rental, membership in Learn Skate USA and certificate upon course completion. Register today!


The Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society is the nation’s oldest skating club. For more than 150 years, we’ve been providing a community for people who love to skate.
Whether you’re a beginner, recreational, or competitive skater, we welcome you to our club. We offer Learn to Skate USA group lessons, public skating and memberships in our member-owned ice skating rink in Ardmore, Pennsylvania–only minutes outside of downtown Philadelphia.
